full-time content creator

position overview: 

We’re seeking a creative and motivated content creator to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for developing compelling content across various platforms to support our marketing campaigns and enhance our clients' online presence. A significant part of this role will involve being on-site with our clients in Charlottesville and Central Virginia to capture high-quality content. If you have a knack for photography/videography, a keen eye for detail, and a passion for producing social content for businesses, we’d love to hear from you!

key responsibilities:

Content Development: Create high-quality, engaging social media and digital content that aligns with our clients’ brands and marketing goals. You’ll also do the same for Hive! This includes on-site photo and video shoots for clients in Central Virginia, so access to a vehicle and a phone/camera with the capacity to record high-quality video/photos are required.

Graphic Design: Use Canva, Adobe or other software to design posts and edit videos. (Reels are typically created in app, so knowledge of Instagram is a must.)

Research & Ideation: Stay updated on industry trends and gather insights to inform content creation. Brainstorm and contribute fresh content ideas and continued recommendations to our team regarding the latest trends and social media best practices.

Content Calendar Creation: Work with account managers to develop monthly content and campaigns. (We use Loomly as a scheduling platform.)

qualifications:

Our ideal candidate will possess the following:

Experience: A minimum of two years of experience in content creation for businesses, as well as passions for design, photography and videography. A portfolio or samples of social media posts/accounts you manage and metrics (i.e. follows, views, reach, shares, likes) are required.

Skills: 

  • Strong, professional aesthetics for capturing high-quality photos and videos to engage social followers

  • Extensive knowledge of Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok (experience with Meta Business Suite and Meta/Instagram Ads are preferred)

  • Experience with photo and video editing tools

  • Experience with Canva, Adobe or similar design tools

  • Copywriting for engaging captions

  • Creativity!

  • Excellent time management skills and ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines

hours & compensation:

Hours: Approximately 40 hours weekly

Schedule: Hours will primarily be Monday to Friday from 9 am to 5 pm, but will occasionally occur outside normal business hours depending on account needs (mix of in-office and onsite content gathering for clients - all in or around Charlottesville).

Compensation: Competitive salary rate based on experience, a generous PTO policy, QSEHRA health plan reimbursement, and 401k opportunity after six months.
