google ads & digital ad specialist

position overview: 

Hive Creative Group is seeking a Google Ads & Digital Ads Specialist to join our marketing agency. This role is ideal for someone who thrives on data, strategy, and continuous optimization—someone who can turn insights into action and ad spend into results.

key responsibilities:

  • Plan, build, and manage Google Ads campaigns (Search, Display, Performance Max, Shopping, YouTube) for a variety of clients and industries

  • Develop and execute paid social campaigns across Meta (Facebook and Instagram) and other relevant platforms (LinkedIn, Pinterest, etc.)

  • Conduct keyword research, A/B testing, audience targeting, and competitor analysis

  • Write effective ad copy and collaborate with the creative team to design compelling ad visuals

  • Monitor and optimize performance based on key metrics (CTR, ROAS, CPC, conversions)

  • Advise on landing page strategy and conversion optimization in collaboration with web designers

  • Create monthly reports and insights to help clients understand their results and identify opportunities

  • Stay up to date with evolving trends, platform updates, and advertising best practices

qualifications:

Our ideal candidate will possess the following:

Experience: 2–4+ years of hands-on experience managing paid Google Ads and social ad campaigns

Skills: 

  • Proven expertise in Google Ads and Meta Business Suite (certifications a plus)

  • Strong analytical skills and comfort working with data, KPIs, and reporting dashboards

  • A results-oriented mindset with a love for testing, learning, and improving

  • Clear communication and collaboration skills—you're just as comfortable sharing a performance summary with clients as you are adjusting a bid strategy

  • Experience managing multiple campaigns across different industries at once

  • Familiarity with Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager, and conversion tracking

  • Excellent time management skills and the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines

Bonus Points:

  • Experience with other platforms like LinkedIn Pinterest or TikTok ads

  • Knowledge of SEO and organic search strategy

  • Basic graphic design or copywriting skills

  • Experience working in an agency environment

hours & compensation:

Hours: negotiable

Schedule: This is a hybrid position based in Charlottesville, VA. Team members are expected to work on-site at Hive’s Charlottesville headquarters at least two days per week, with flexibility to work remotely the rest of the time. Occasional in-person meetings or client sessions may be required. Hours will primarily be Monday to Friday from 9 am to 5 pm, but will occasionally occur outside normal business hours depending on account needs (mix of in-office and onsite content gathering for clients - all in or around Charlottesville).

Compensation: Competitive salary rate based on experience, a generous PTO policy, QSEHRA health plan reimbursement, and 401k opportunity after six months for full-time positions. Competitive hourly rate based on experience, and 401k opportunity after six months for part-time positions (part-time minimum of 20 hours per week).
